Avanguardia Group is an animation company in Malaysia, working from Kuala Lumpur with brands, agencies, developers and manufacturers across the country and the wider region. We are not a cartoon series studio. Our animation exists to sell a product, explain a process, train a workforce or win an approval, and every frame is judged on whether it does that job. We have animated switchgear and water filters, mattresses and air conditioners, medical devices, factory operations and property developments, in 2D and 3D and frequently in several languages at once. Because we are a full production house as well as an animation studio, animation can sit alongside a live action shoot, aerial work or product photography in the same project, handled by the same team.

Animation FAQ
1. What does an animation company in Malaysia actually do?
We turn something that is hard to see or hard to explain into film. That might be the inside of a product, a process that takes six months in real life, a building that does not exist yet, or a drug working at cell level. The animation is the tool, the job is understanding.
2. What types of animation do you produce?
3D product animation, corporate and explainer films, medical and scientific animation, 2D animation and animated infographics, architectural walkthroughs, logo animation and title sequences, and technical or safety training modules. We work in both 2D and 3D, and often mix the two in one film.
3. How much does animation cost in Malaysia?
It depends far more on complexity than on length. A clean 2D explainer, a photoreal 3D product cutaway and a scientifically reviewed medical animation sit at very different price points even at the same duration. The things that move a quote are how much needs modelling from scratch, how photoreal the finish has to be, how many languages you need and how tight the deadline is. 4. Do you write the script and storyboard?
Yes, and we would rather do it than not. Most animation that goes wrong went wrong at the script. You will see a storyboard and agree it before a single frame is animated, because changing a drawing costs nothing and changing a finished render costs a great deal.
5. How long does an animation project take?
A straightforward 2D explainer is usually a few weeks. A photoreal 3D product film or a technical walkthrough typically runs longer, driven mostly by how much has to be modelled and how many rounds of approval sit on your side. We agree the schedule in writing at the start and flag slippage early rather than at the deadline.
6. Can you animate in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and other languages?
Yes. Multilingual delivery is normal for us, whether that means Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Tamil, English or regional languages for a wider rollout. Building the film with localisation in mind from the start is far cheaper than retrofitting it later, so tell us early which markets you need.
7. Do you work with agencies and clients outside Malaysia?
Regularly. A good share of our work arrives through agencies and production partners who need animation delivered to their own client, and we are comfortable working white label under their brand. We also deliver to clients across the region who never set foot in our office.
8. What makes you different from other animation studios in Malaysia?
Most animation studios in Malaysia grew out of entertainment, making series and characters. We grew out of commercial production, so our animation sits beside live action shoots, product photography and event films, and it is built to sell, explain or train rather than to entertain. If your project needs both a camera crew and a render farm, that is a normal week here.
